Greg Shelnutt, PGA Certified Instructor

Greg Shelnutt’s journey in golf began at 17, when he got his start in course maintenance and shop operations at a local club. Working in the pro shop gave Greg more than firsthand exposure to the golf industry—it helped him build lasting relationships and sparked a passion for the game that continues to shape his teaching today.

That passion led Greg to the Golf Academy of the Carolinas, where he focused on instructional methods and the three phases of learning. He discovered that each golfer processes the game differently and developed a coaching philosophy grounded in personalized growth and clear communication. His teaching has since been recognized in Voyage Atlanta magazine for its impact across experience levels.

After graduation, Greg joined Callaway Gardens to put his training into practice. There, he refined his teaching style and built expertise in ball flight analysis—helping players make meaningful adjustments to improve distance and accuracy. At Highland Country Club in Lagrange, Georgia, he served as Assistant Golf Professional while advancing through the PGA Golf Management Program, a curriculum rooted in people, business, and performance.

Today, Greg serves as an instructor at Northcrest Driving Range, where he works with golfers of all levels to build consistency, control, and confidence from tee to green.
